Compare an Alpina with its own records, so that the BMW base car and the Alpina details are each clearly identified.
Alpina
An Alpina is built on a BMW but carries its own engine tuning, wheels, interior details and badging. Start by matching the VIN with the registration document and the Alpina identification on the car, then compare the advertised version, wheels, seats and driver assistance with the equipment list before you discuss the history of the car.
These examples include current and older model names. They are not a coverage list: report availability depends on the individual VIN, model year and market.
Save the seller’s equipment description before your viewing. Write down which details are essential to you and which are still unconfirmed. Compare the original specification, the seller’s description and the vehicle itself as three separate records.
Ask the seller to explain the difference and provide supporting documents. A replacement part, a retrofit or an incorrect advert can produce a mismatch. Do not assume which explanation applies, and do not treat an equipment report as proof of service history, mileage or accident history.
A VIN identifies an individual vehicle. Reading the characters alone does not give you a complete list of optional equipment. Use the factory specification to understand the original configuration, then compare it with the vehicle and its documents. Model names and trim badges are not a substitute for this check.
VIN decoderAvailable fields depend on the manufacturer’s record for the specific VIN. Not every report includes every category. A factory package name may also differ between markets.
Factory equipment describes the original configuration. It does not prove that a feature still works or that a car has not been modified. Check the vehicle itself and its service documentation before relying on an advertised feature.
