Models and equipment checks

The same model name can cover vehicles with different body styles, generations and equipment. Start by identifying the exact car, then compare lighting, seats, multimedia and parking assistance item by item. A sporty exterior or an attractive wheel design is not enough to establish the rest of the cabin or driver-assistance specification.

Model examples

  • Audi A3
  • Audi A4
  • Audi A6
  • Audi Q3
  • Audi Q5

These examples include current and older model names. They are not a coverage list: report availability depends on the individual VIN, model year and market.

What can a VIN tell you about equipment?

A VIN identifies an individual vehicle. Reading the characters alone does not give you a complete list of optional equipment. Use the factory specification to understand the original configuration, then compare it with the vehicle and its documents. Model names and trim badges are not a substitute for this check.

Coverage

Available fields depend on the manufacturer’s record for the specific VIN. Not every report includes every category. A factory package name may also differ between markets.

Factory equipment describes the original configuration. It does not prove that a feature still works or that a car has not been modified. Check the vehicle itself and its service documentation before relying on an advertised feature.
