Models and equipment checks

The model family is only the beginning of a specification comparison. Identify the body style and generation, then review seats, lighting, audio, wheels and other options individually. Similar-looking vehicles can deserve very different questions, and an accessory or styling change made later should not be confused with an original factory choice.

Model examples

  • Porsche 911
  • Porsche Panamera
  • Porsche Macan
  • Porsche Cayenne

These examples include current and older model names. They are not a coverage list: report availability depends on the individual VIN, model year and market.

What can a VIN tell you about equipment?

A VIN identifies an individual vehicle. Reading the characters alone does not give you a complete list of optional equipment. Use the factory specification to understand the original configuration, then compare it with the vehicle and its documents. Model names and trim badges are not a substitute for this check.

Coverage

Available fields depend on the manufacturer’s record for the specific VIN. Not every report includes every category. A factory package name may also differ between markets.

Factory equipment describes the original configuration. It does not prove that a feature still works or that a car has not been modified. Check the vehicle itself and its service documentation before relying on an advertised feature.
