VINBYCAR / FIELD NOTES

Opel equipment packages and market specifications

Keep Opel package descriptions tied to the vehicle’s market, production period and actual equipment.

Use the correct market document

Match the VIN and note the model and production information. If the car was imported, record the market shown in its paperwork. Do not substitute a similar-looking vehicle’s trim list for the individual specification, even when the model names or badges appear closely related.

Break a package into individual checks

Copy the original wording for lighting, seating and parking equipment. Ask which functions each package includes for this vehicle. Compare the documents with visible controls and safe parked demonstrations. Keep uncertain features marked as questions instead of expanding a familiar marketing label into an assumed equipment list.

Account for later multimedia or lighting work

Ask whether screens, lamps or other accessories have been changed. Retain installation documents and record the fitted parts separately from the factory configuration. A replacement may explain a mismatch, but the equipment record alone cannot identify why the difference exists. Use a qualified inspection for questions about condition or installation quality.
