Create a finish record
Match the VIN and retain complete paint, upholstery and trim descriptions where available. Keep the model and production information with them. Ask for clarification of abbreviated material or colour entries instead of choosing a catalogue name that merely resembles the advert photographs.
Record wheels and cosmetic changes
Photograph wheel markings and visible exterior details with permission. Ask about refinishing, replacement wheels and decorative alterations. Keep invoices for later work beside the original equipment list, not inside it. A similar-looking finish does not establish that a component is original or unchanged.
Compare cabin functions as well as appearance
Check advertised seat adjustments, climate functions and multimedia controls while parked. Record which positions and functions were actually demonstrated. Keep questions about wear, repairs and present operation separate from original specification. This makes the equipment record useful without treating it as a condition certificate for the Jaguar being offered.
