Identify the motorcycle and its documents
Match the VIN and record the precise model and production details. Use the rider’s manual that applies to the motorcycle. Instructions can describe equipment that is not fitted to every example, so connect any advertised option to the individual equipment record before assuming it is present.
Inventory removable accessories
For luggage, navigation equipment and mounting hardware, record exactly what is included. Ask for accessory instructions, keys and installation paperwork. Check whether a visible mount includes the device it supports. Photograph the items at the viewing and distinguish factory entries from dealer-installed or owner-added equipment.
Confirm the controls without guessing
Ask the seller to demonstrate relevant heated, electronic or convenience functions with the motorcycle safely stationary. Follow its instructions and leave unfamiliar settings alone. Record unanswered questions for a qualified inspection. A list of ride modes or accessories is not an assessment of tyre condition, suspension setup, maintenance or safe operation.
