Inspect the present set
Record the visible markings on the fitted tyres and ask whether the wheels have been changed. Do not assume that a factory wheel description proves what is on the car today. Check each wheel rather than relying on a single listing photograph.
Avoid choosing pressure from the sidewall
Use the vehicle's specified tyre-pressure information for the relevant configuration and loading conditions. A maximum pressure marked on a tyre is not automatically the recommended pressure for the car. Pressure checks should follow the vehicle's instructions, including the requirement for cold tyres where specified.
Ask about compatibility
If wheels or tyre sizes have changed, ask how compatibility was established. Size alone does not answer every question about suitability. A qualified tyre professional can assess the actual combination and investigate damage or unusual wear; do not treat a short visual check as a safety inspection.
Clarify the handover
If another wheel set is included, inspect and identify that set separately. Record which tyres, wheels and any related accessories are part of the agreement. Keep observations about the present equipment separate from the original specification. This prevents a comparison of two cars from quietly comparing an original wheel description on one with an unverified replacement set on the other.
