Record the model and production context
Match the VIN and record body style, powertrain and production information from the documents. Keep the trim and package names exactly as advertised. When comparing two Toyotas, do not substitute a different year’s or market’s specification simply because the model name is the same.
Make assistance claims precise
Write down the individual functions the seller claims, then compare them with the equipment descriptions and applicable instructions. Ask for an explanation of the controls while parked. A package label is not a substitute for knowing which functions are documented, and should not lead to experimental tests of safety-related systems.
Check everyday equipment directly
Ask to demonstrate ordinary seat, camera, climate and phone functions. Record replacement multimedia equipment and other later additions with their supporting paperwork. Keep missing descriptions marked as uncertain. An equipment report does not assess current system condition, hybrid-battery health or service history; those questions need their own evidence.
