VINBYCAR / FIELD NOTES

SEAT equipment codes and package descriptions

Use complete SEAT equipment entries to compare the actual car, keeping styling and functional options separate.

Keep a readable copy of the codes

Match the VIN and record the model year, body style and market from the paperwork. If equipment codes are provided, preserve their full characters and descriptions. Ask for a clearer copy when necessary. Do not fill a missing character using a code found on another vehicle.

Separate appearance from function

For advertised sport, lighting or technology packages, ask which individual features are documented. A bumper, wheel design or seat covering does not establish every function in a package. Compare the record with the car’s controls and a safe parked demonstration of the items important to you.

Record changes and unresolved entries

Ask about replacement audio equipment, wheels and accessories. Keep the seller’s explanation and invoices separate from the original list. Where a code remains unclear, request information applicable to the production period and market. An unconfirmed entry is a question to resolve, not proof that a feature is present or absent.
