Identify the version
Check that the VIN on the car matches the registration document, and write down the model, body style, engine or electric drive, gearbox and trim level. Renault sells many models in several trim levels, and option packs can make two cars of the same model look quite different. Ask which document confirms the version named in the advert.
Check the multimedia and assistance features
Go through the navigation, smartphone connection, camera, parking sensors and driver assistance one by one, and ask to see them working. Note which features belong to an option pack and which the seller describes as added later. A feature that appears on the screen is not proof that it was part of the original order.
Record wheels, lighting and service work
Photograph the wheels, tyres and headlights, and compare their design with the trim described. Ask for invoices for service work, software updates and repairs. Keep open questions where documents are missing. An equipment list helps you organise the original specification; a qualified inspection is still needed to judge the condition of the car.
