Capture the precise wording
Match the VIN and record the model year and exact version. Save the advert’s description of camera, parking and assistance equipment. Ask for the complete option wording where a short package name leaves the functions unclear. Avoid importing features from a different model’s brochure.
Check what is shown while parked
Ask the seller to demonstrate the relevant displays and controls in a safe stationary setting. Record camera views and sensor information separately. A reversing image does not establish additional views, and visible sensors do not identify every assistance function. Keep what you observed distinct from what remains only an advertised claim.
Use the instructions for operational questions
Consult the applicable vehicle instructions before relying on an assistance feature. Ask about repairs or changes involving cameras, sensors or multimedia and retain supporting documents. Leave operational or calibration concerns for a qualified inspection. An original equipment list is not proof of current performance or a reason to test a safety-related function experimentally.
