Ask what is included
Record how many keys or access devices are part of the sale and what each is intended to do. Do not infer the number of working keys from an equipment description. A spare casing or an untested remote should not be treated as a confirmed working key.
Check access and starting separately
With the seller present, follow the vehicle's instructions to check each key. Keyless entry, remote locking and keyless starting are separate functions. Keep another working means of access available and do not deliberately lock a key or a person inside the car to test behaviour.
Clarify digital access
If phone-based access is relevant, ask how ownership and permissions will be transferred. Do not assume that deleting an app removes every access permission. Follow the vehicle's prescribed handover process, and avoid sharing passwords or sign-in codes.
Record unresolved issues
Note intermittent operation, warning messages and keys that could not be demonstrated. Ask a qualified professional to investigate before relying on them. At handover, check the physical items against the agreed list and complete the appropriate account-transfer steps. The aim is to establish what you receive and how to use it, without mistaking a feature name for proof that every access device is present and functional.
