Establish which car you are checking
Confirm the VIN and ask where the car was originally supplied. Keep that answer separate from its current registration. A car's present location does not tell you which equipment configuration it originally had.
Test the functions you will use
Check the language settings, navigation, radio and phone connection with your own needs in mind. Ask whether any connected functions require account changes or have restrictions in the country where you will use the car. Do not assume that a familiar model name means every digital feature operates identically.
Ask about physical differences and changes
Inspect the lighting, instruments and any charging equipment that applies to the vehicle. Ask about adaptations made after import and retain the relevant documentation. Questions about registration compliance or safety-related modifications should be checked with the appropriate authority or a qualified professional; an equipment list cannot settle them.
Keep the decision specific
Make a list of essential functions, record which you tested and leave unanswered questions visible. Avoid general conclusions about all cars from a particular country. The useful question is whether this vehicle, in its present configuration, meets your needs and has the documentation required for its intended use.
