Capture the vehicle record accurately
Match the VIN on the car and paperwork before reading equipment entries. If documents include option identifiers or RPO codes, preserve the complete code and its wording. Obtain a readable copy rather than guessing a blurred letter. Do not apply a code definition taken from an unrelated model or production period.
Break packages into questions
If the seller names a towing, comfort or technology package, ask for its documented contents for this vehicle. Write down the functions you need individually. A tow attachment, wheel design or display screen may support a viewing question, but does not by itself establish the whole package or its original fitment.
Record parts that have changed
Ask about replacement wheels, audio equipment and other accessories. Keep invoices and installation details separate from the original specification. For load or towing limits, use the applicable vehicle documentation rather than deriving a number from an option name. Arrange a condition inspection where needed; an equipment record cannot assess the safety of a modification.
