Choose your everyday tasks
Before the viewing, list what you need from the system: audio playback, navigation, phone calls or access to vehicle settings. A large screen does not establish that any particular function is included, active or easy for you to use.
Work through the menus while parked
Ask the seller to show the main controls with the vehicle safely parked. Check touch response or physical controls, the readability of the display and how you return to the home screen. Do not change unfamiliar vehicle settings merely to explore the menus.
Ask about access and accounts
Find out which functions work directly and which involve a phone, a user account or a separate activation. Do not assume that an account belonging to the seller can be transferred to you. Ask how personal information will be removed at handover while retaining any documentation you need.
Write down unresolved behaviour
Record warning messages, missing functions or tasks you could not complete. If the screen or audio unit has been replaced, ask what changed and whether other controls still work as intended. Keep observations specific: navigation opened is more informative than technology package confirmed. A short viewing can establish usability for some tasks without proving the condition of every connected function.
