Build a record of the complete finish
Match the VIN before recording paint, upholstery and decorative trim descriptions. Preserve each code and its accompanying wording. For a Continental GT, Flying Spur or Bentayga, keep the model and production period with the record rather than treating a current colour catalogue as a description of an older car.
Ask what a personalisation entry actually documents
A reference to personalisation does not explain every material or colour used. Request the original order details or other paperwork for the specific finish where available. Photograph contrasting panels, stitching and trim separately. Do not convert an abbreviated entry into an exact bespoke colour name without supporting evidence.
Separate original specification from current condition
Ask about repainting, upholstery work and replacement veneers or trim. Keep any invoices alongside the factory information and compare the visible details in suitable light. A factory finish description does not certify that the current surface is original. Leave an unresolved shade or material marked as unconfirmed rather than filling the gap with a visually similar catalogue example.
